Falling for my friend

My intentions from the beginnings were honorable you see, All I wanted to be was your friend, to be in your company. As time passed my feelings transformed and like evolved into love, And now I kneel praying for forgiveness from the one up above.
I can't lose our friendship; it means more to me than life But selfishly I know this will cause a lot of pain and strife. I know it's a delusion but I am holding it close to my heart And that's where it will stay forever to ensure we will never be apart.
A day might arise when I must make a declaration of guilt This day we will be able to share all the memories we have built, Not knowing what the future holds or if this is even a probability That one day our love will stand tall without instability.

Power of Language

The Power of Language

I am currently in the acts of researching about the power of language, and the power it cultivates and kill in women. Specifically women of color. I am learning language has the power to empower and dis empower one's character throughout life. Also, realizing to give language power is to rightfully give one the ability to exercise their rights in a form of integrity and self-confidence, which potentially eliminates judgmental calls towards women. Again specifically women of color. I have made it my decision to focus my senior paper on "The power of language: Black Feminism and Activism."  Throughout my paper, I will define black feminism and how the power of language affected/affects various black women from Sojourner Truth to the many influential twenty-first century women in society. My goal as I accumulate material, articles, literature pertaining to Black women's studies is to empower, uplift, and build in every aspect of my life. Therefore the skills, knowledge, and strength I gain from my intensive research will be an essential tool or weapon i will be able to use and apply to my field of study. As well as my everyday journey. My prayer is that God blesses me with the ability to retain the essence of the Black womans struggle.
