maybe it's me

I love my Brothas!

They carry burdens.
Every divine energy in nature is wrapped up in a Black Man.
Their 31 flavors to caramel latte to black coffee.
The way they laugh, roaring with power and conviction.
The way they run their tongues over their succulent lips with an unintentional wink.
They make great fathers, mentors, educators, etc.
Aware and sensitive to family, community, who takes time to guide our youths!
Their mind, strength, their sharpness.
Noticeable, when a brotha walk in a room everyone notice.
The way Black men walk. the bass line and drumbeats fall to the ground with every step.

Peace All...

I can finally say I am on break. Winter vacation that is. The semester went well, a sista is proud of self. Now I must focus on my jewelry (Zuri Peaces). As Wilma Rudolph once said, when the sun is shining I can do anything; no mountain is to high, no trouble to difficult. With that said I realize I must not waste my time. I plan to spend my break seeking out ways to improve my craft. If I hone my talent, craft (art) to the fullest, then am I able to completely resonate truth through my peace.

My goal with my new project or  my "Master Plan" is to challenge myself to create to the best of my ability. We all know, challenges come in our lives to equip us, and to make us stronger. Yet so many people living on this universe run away from their challenges. Rather the challenge is minor or huge, they run. I am GUILTY! But we as a people must not run from challenges in life. Don't you know that every challenge in your life is an obstacle waiting to be crossed or dealt with. Sometimes we get so busy/caught up in society that we allow challenges/obstacles to consume our lives. Therefore, we never get around to dealing with our challenges/obstacles. After while we begin to see the challenge to build up/stack up. Often times making it difficult for us to overcome or face.

With my new project/line I plan to challenge myself as a Black woman in society. By challenging myself to create to the best of my ability am I then embracing art of overcoming a certain difficulty in my life. That difficulty for instance may be laziness during leisure time.

In the long run I want my line to promote Black womanhood and cultivate the warm essence of the rich African heritage. I want my line to be a sense of empowerment, motivation, and a vehicle to push Black women (women) young and old to cherish their selves as women.

I'm excited!
